Let's Talk About Food

About the Experts

Jo-Ann Heslin, MA, RD, CDN
Annette B. Natow, PhD

Let’s talk about us …

Annette has a Ph.D. in nutrition and biochemistry from Texas Women’s University. Jo-Ann has a master’s degree in nutrition from NYU, and is both a certified dietitian/nutritionist (CDN) and a registered dietitian (RD).

We have written 28 consumer nutrition books and 2 college textbooks, and have sold over 5 million books. We wrote the first Cholesterol Counter, with the sixth edition released in 2004. We have written articles for and served on the editorial boards of Prevention, American Baby and Vitality, and Environmental Nutrition Newsletter. For 22 years we were editor and associate editor of the Journal of Nutrition for the Elderly, a quarterly research journal.

Because scientific information is constantly evolving, information about food choices can be confusing. We will help translate this often contradictory information into good advice you can use right now.

When you read one of our books, we want you to feel like you’re having lunch with an old friend – not threatened or intimidated into making changes, but encouraged towards a healthier lifestyle.

Try our advice – it’s practical, easy to understand, reliable, and gets results. Let’s talk about food … it’s fun! Let’s talk about nutrition – it’s important to your health.
