MiasKitchen_nonnis-300We love to try new foods. Some are great. Some don’t measure up and some become staples in our kitchen. See what you think.

Fourth generation of the famous Sebastiani California wine family, Mia Sebastiani, has founded Mia’s Kitchen (www.miaskitchen.com) to produce gourmet quality tomato sauce made from fresh California-grown ingredients. The sauces are available in 6 flavors. All are gluten-free, produced in a gluten-free facility in Sonoma, California. We tasted 3 of the sauces, all of which were excellent but different.

  • Garlic & Onion has 80 calories in a ½-cup serving with 5 grams of fat, 8 grams of carb (2 of which are sugar and 2 grams are fiber) and 330 milligrams of sodium.
      • Nonni’s Special Arrabiata has 70 calories in a ½-cup serving with 3.5 grams of fat, 8 grams of carb (3 of which are sugar and 1 gram is fiber) and 410 milligrams of sodium.
      • Vodka Sauce has 100 calories in a ½-cup serving with 6 grams of fat, 8 grams of carb (3 of which are sugar and 1 gram is fiber) and 370 milligrams of sodium.

This is a brand worth trying.
