sproutPuree-300We love to try new foods. Some are great. Some don’t measure up and some become staples in our kitchen. See what you think.

Sprout baby food has enlarged its brand offerings with new options for both babies and toddlers. We had our 3-year old taster sample some of the toddler choices.

Crispy Fruit & Veggie Chews combine whole grain rice crisps with fruit and vegetable flavors. They come in a single-serving pouch with 60 calories. Fruity Yogurt Bites combine freeze-dried yogurt pieces with freeze-dried fruit pieces. They also come in a single-serving pouch with 25 calories.

A new line of Greek yogurt snacks for toddlers include Blueberry Brown Rice with Greek Yogurt (70 calories) and Red Berry Barley with Greek Yogurt (60 calories). These are packaged in single serve squeeze pouches (4.22 ounces) which are handy for self-feeding when on the go. The packaging notes that the pouch can be re-sealed but should be used within 24-hours. Because the child’s mouth is in contact with the spout, we would urge caution keeping these without refrigeration if the whole serving is not eaten. Out 3-year old taster like the Greek yogurt snack pouches the best.

All Sprout products are USDA certified organic.
