ips-300We love to try new foods. Some are great. Some don’t measure up and some become staples in our kitchen. See what you think.

ips All Natural makes pressure puffed Egg White Ch(ips). ips,  which stands for intelligent protein snacks, comes in 4 flavors: Aged White Cheddar, Barbeque, Cinnamon Sugar, and Sea Salt & Black Pepper. The nutrition information for  1 serving (34 chips or a 1-ounce bag) is similar for all flavors: 130 calories, 4 grams of  fat (5 for Cinnamon Sugar), less than 5 milligrams of cholesterol (the cholesterol from  eggs is found in the yolk), and 7 grams of protein. The sodium varied somewhat from  130 milligrams for Cinnamon Sugar to 280 for Sea Salt & Black Pepper. All are kosher  certified (Upper Midwest Kashruth), non-GMO (no genetically modified ingredients) and
gluten free. ips are crunchy with a slight egg flavor and each variety was true to its  added flavor.

barefruit300barefruit makes crunchy Apple Chips. The Apple Chips are baked not dehydrated and each flavor – Cinnamon, Fuji Red, and Granny Smith – are  made from US sourced apples. There are no added ingredients (except for cinnamon)  or preservatives. One package (0.53-ounce) contains 1 apple, 50 calories, no fat,  cholesterol or sodium, 14 grams of carb (11 grams are natural sugar from the apple + 2  grams of natural fiber). Apples are naturally gluten free and the chips are processed in a nut free facility. The chips are crunchy, not overly sweet and the serving size (1 bag) is  an excellent snack size.

Simply7 makes crunchy, scoop-shaped chips using hummus, lentils and pomegranates as the base for each of the chip lines. All the
varieties are non-GMO (no genetically modified ingredients), vegetarian, and made from simple ingredients with no additives, preservatives or artificial flavors or colors.
