Change the Setting, Change Your Eating

Brian Wansink, PhD, head of the Food and Brand Lab at Cornell University has shown that people can lose up to 2 pounds a month by simply changing their eating environment.

  • Eat off salad plates rather than large dinner plates
  • Keep unhealthy food out of your immediate line of sight
  • Move healthier food choices to eye-level in the refrigerator or kitchen cabinets
  • Eat at the table in the kitchen or dining room, not in front of the TV.
