New in the Market: Gluten-free Pasta Meals

We love to try new foods. Some are great and become staples in our kitchen. Others don’t measure up. See what you think.

Caesar’s Pasta Products is a third generation, family-owned business that makes frozen pasta specialties. The company recently introduced a line of frozen, all natural, gluten- and wheat-free pasta meals. Varieties include stuffed shells in marinara sauce, manicotti in marinara sauce, cheese lasagna, and vegetable lasagna. The pasta is made with rice and has a texture very similar to traditional pasta. We taste-tested the meals on traditional pasta lovers and got excellent feedback.

All varieties are an 11-ounce serving with calories ranging from 380 (manicotti) to 520 (lasagna) which is reasonable for a meal. Sodium ranges from 510 milligrams to 660. All meals are precooked so they can be microwaves in minutes.
